Philtrust Bank branches out to Cagayan Valley region

Philtrust Bank inaugurates its Santiago City branch located at Philtrust Building, Maharlika Highway corner Abauag Street, Santiago City, Isabela, on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 5 p.m. The new Cagayan Valley office is part of the bank’s program of countryside expansion and is scheduled to be followed by further Bank branch openings in the cities of Urdaneta, Tarlac, and Baguio in Luzon; Dumaguete in the Visayas; and General Santos and Tagum in Mindanao.

Also being inaugurated on June 6 is Philtrust’s NAIA 3 branch. Bank Chairman and President Jaime C. Laya said that the Santiago City branch is in support of Region II development, particularly in agriculture, fisheries, and tourism. He said Isabela is the country’s top corn producer and second largest rice-growing province. Philtrust Bank is the Philippines’ second oldest private commercial bank, having been founded in 1916.

In its 98 years of banking service, Philtrust has acquired a reputation for conservatism and reliability and has enjoyed the trust and confidence of the business community and the general public. Rev. Fr. Patrick D. Caro, parish priest of St. James Parish Church, will bless the new Branch with Mayor and Mrs. Joseph S. Tan as guests of honor and principal sponsors. Officers of the Branch are Cristina C. Aguilar, Asst. Manager; and Geraldine C. Perez, Asst. Cashier; who have 27 and 21 years of banking experience, respectively.
